Book early. Car rentals, Ferry tickets, and accommodations can be snapped up quickly, especially during the summer months. Book early to get the best selection.
Watch out for that extra “S.” When booking, make sure that it’s for St. John’s, NL (YYT), not Saint John, NB (YSJ).
It’s a big province. If you’re a Canadian from another province visiting, this won’t surprise you, but if you are coming from Europe or elsewhere, you may be surprised by the distance.
Example: Huon House to St. John’s is 821 km, an 8 hrs and 31 min drive.
FERRY TICKETS
If you are planning to drive, you must book tickets for the ferry through Marine Atlantic.
The ferry departs from North Sydney, Nova Scotia to:
→ Port aux Basques, NL, 96 Nautical Miles, 7 hrs
→ Argentia, NL - 280 Nautical Miles, 16 hrs
